The Aboriginal Children’s Advancement Society has been involved in the education and advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth since 1963.
Through the establishment of the Kirinari hostels at Sylvania (Sydney) and Garden Suburb (Newcastle) the Society has been able to assist Aboriginal high school students access educational opportunities which have enabled them to pursue further education or obtain employment and in doing so, contribute in a positive way to society.
ACAS also conducts or supports several programs which enhance the educational and cultural aspirations of Aboriginal youth.
ACAS prides itself as an organisation which practises reconciliation in action.
